Weekend project

Here is my friend album that I made for a special lady. I thought that I would share it with you. I think it turned out quite well and was sooooooo much fun. If you look really close, you can see my first attempt at making a figure out of fimo clay. Back between the roll of tape and the calculater on my desk. .That was unintentional, but well...he wanted to be shared too.

Have a good day...and make it your own. In other words....enjoy it.

Christmas tags

Yes, you did read that right. I know it seems like Christmas is a long way away, but it will be here in all of its splendor before we know it. I joined a swap with Christmas tags. I had to make 50 of them, and I will get 50. Here are some pictures of my tags I made. Each one is unique. I hope they make you smile.

Doily Challenge

I have a friend who presented me with a challenge...she gave me 8 red doilies and asked me to come up with something to use in decoration of a bedroom.

It took some thought, but here is what I came up with...

a Luminary ..............................................................

a kleenex cover.........................................................

and a mobile...........................................

I use all but 2 of the doilies. I think she was happy with the results.

The bed doll caper......

This is my latest caper...or adventure. I made one of these some years ago, for a lady at work. I never took a picture of that one. This one is also for a lady at work, and I had no idea how much work it was going to be. Not hard work, just time consuming. I like to crochet, but working with paper goes so much quicker, so paper is usually my craft of choice...thus the scrapbooking interests.
I think she turned out quite pretty. I sewed lace under each ruffle to make it a little more frilly. I hope she likes it. What do you think?

I had two sheets of inkjet shrinkydinks, for the longest time. I have been "afraid" to use them, because they were a little on the expensive side. I know, $8.00 for two 8 1/2x11 sheets doesn't sound too bad, but I was afraid that I would mess them up and it would all be a waste. Well, they turned out pretty good, and I have made two pair of earrings (already sent one pair out, and didn't take a pic) But here is a pair I made for my sister, along with a charm bracelet. She likes pandas, and I liked the cupcake. The little girl is our niece. Her favorite color is purple, so the other charms have a purple bead in the center. What do you think? Anyone want a personalized charm bracelet?????

Christmas present

These are my felt cupckes. Don't they look good enough to eat? I have named them lemon meringue, red velvet, keylime, vanilla delight, and dark chocolate cream and milk chocolate cream...what do you think? Isn't some little girl going to just have a ball playing with these? Tea party here we come.
These are my bottle charms that I created. I needed something to put on my bottle of water when I put it in the refrigerator at work, so that I would know which bottle was mine when I came back to drink it later. This is what I came up with. Don't you just love the bottle I made to hang them on...LOL!!! These just hang over the neck of your bottle, and they have your name on them. I had a friend at work who liked them so well, she asked me to make her 4 of them. This is what I did on my day off while I was suffering from a stinking cold. Thank goodness for zicam. I could feel worse...Not feeling very good, but better than I could be.

Such a slacker!!!!

I love writing to my blog, but I just get so busy that I forget. I had a wonderful day off yesterday. I got up and made caramel corn. Then I took 1/4 of the caramel corn, and covered it with orange candy melts. Then I took another 1/4 and covered it with green candy melts. When I tell you this turned out delicious...I am not kidding. The only thing I forgot, was to put peanuts in it. Oh well, it tastes so good that noone will miss the peanuts. I made boxes and when I get home from work this morning, I am going to fill the boxes and deliver them to my family. Yay!!!!! They were supposed to be for Halloween...better late than never...is my philosophy.(If only you could see my sheepish smile)
Well, off to get ready for work.
Have a great day...I plan on it.

6 minutes before I have to get ready for work...so, I tell myself, what better thing to do that post a message on my blog...and the answer is...housework. Well, as you can see I picked the lesser of the evils...LOL!!!
I just had three glorious days off from work, got to spend time with family, one of my favorite things to do. I made some felt cupcakes and donuts for Christmas presents, and did some crocheting. I shopped at my favorite store...AC Moore. (should I get paid for saying that...LOL!!!) I could spend a fortune there. If only I had the fortune to spend. I just love that store.
So, now I only have 2 minutes and am going to get myself going. So...I hope everyone has a great day, as I plan to.

Good Morning World. Another wonderful day in the neighborhood. It is getting cooler, and I am not too keen on that, but well, so far all is right with the world and I will thank God for that.
Have been having some tummy troubles since the bout I had a few days ago. Nothing horrible, just a lot of gas, discomfort, and some pains when I stretch to the right side or lift something too heavy. I do have an appointment with the surgeons office on the 18th, so unless it gets really bad I will wait for that.
I was visiting my Mom last week, and she said she wished she had a sweater set that my Gram used to make, to send to her grand nephew...who just had a baby girl. So, I came home and proceeded to see if I could make one. I found a lovely pattern http://krstl.tripod.com/id26_drawstring_purse.htm (scroll down to second pattern.) I adjusted it a little to suit my beginner ways...and this is what I came up with.

Ok now, here is something to make you hungry. This is a pizza made of felt that I am making for a niece for Christmas. I sure hope she is going to like this. First we have cheese pizza, then pepperoni, then mushrooms, onions, and peppers...am I making you hungry yet? Looks pretty tasty to me.

Who ever would have thought that towels and washclothes could be so cute. I made these for a craft show. Plus, the little dishcloth angels adorned baskets that my Mom gave as gift to co-workers. They are so easy to make and so fun. With Christmas coming up...they make wonderful gifts. They are decorative and useful.

These are two of my own inventions. They are toilet paper cakes. They make an excellent gift for a new home, a wedding gift with a little funny twist. I have made several of these for people to give as gifts, and everyone always enjoys them.
They are so easy to make and you can do so much with them. These were made with a Christmas theme, but there are so may other themes you can use.

Just more stuff I made.

Here are two roomboxes that I made with printables. Don't they just make you want to remodel your home. Since I rent, this is my way to interior decorate. I guess I better keep my day job, but it sure was fun to make these. The little girl sitting on the bed was a little figurine that was given to me for Christmas one year. She just fit so good in the little room. I have more pictures of these rooms, that show more detail. Unfortunately, I do not have the rooms anymore.

Two diaper cakes I have made. These are such nice gifts for a shower. Everyone always raves about them. They are fun to make too.

Well, this is a new beginning for me. I decided to start a blog. I really don't have any idea what this will be all about, but I hope to learn something, and get some new ideas and friends.

So pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and let's chat.....

I like crafts, dolls, watching tv, cake decorating, scrapbooking....Just to name a few.

As a matter of fact, I made my first wedding cake a couple weekends ago, for my sister's wedding. I knew it was going to be a lot of work, but never had a clue it would be as much work as it was.

It turned out pretty well, I go lots of compliments.

Here is a picture for you to see. Now keep in mind I am not a professional and this was my first one.

I did get a lot of help from a really nice lady on the Wilton Forum site.

Enough for now...
